About Bouffalo Lab
Bouffalo Lab is a fabless chip designer (it designs chips but does not own factories) that makes low-power wireless system-on-chip products for smart IoT and edge devices. Its product families combine Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Low Energy and Zigbee radios with processors, and also cover Matter, Thread and Bluetooth Mesh standards. It is known for building these parts around the open RISC-V instruction set. The company was established in Nanjing, China, in 2016 and has its headquarters there, in the Jiangbei New Area.
Bouffalo Lab was founded in 2016 and is based in Nanjing, China. It is listed under CPUs & RISC-V, Edge Computing.

What Bouffalo Lab works on
CPUs & RISC-V
A CPU, or central processing unit, is the general-purpose chip that runs a computer. It reads instructions, does arithmetic and logic, and decides what happens next. Every phone, laptop and server has at least one.
Edge Computing
Edge computing means processing data close to where it is produced, on a device or a nearby server, instead of sending everything to a distant cloud data center. In chip terms, edge processors are small, low-power chips that run software and AI models inside phones, cameras, cars and sensors.
