About Qubic

Qubic develops cryogenic amplifiers for quantum computers, in particular travelling-wave parametric amplifiers (TWPAs). The microwave signal that carries a qubit's measurement result is extremely faint, so it must be boosted by an amplifier that adds as little noise as possible before it reaches conventional electronics. A TWPA can amplify many qubit signals over a wide frequency range at once, which helps larger processors. The company supplies components to quantum hardware builders and is not a computer maker itself.

Qubic was founded in 2019 and is based in Waterloo, Canada. It is listed under Quantum Computing. Reported funding is $925K CAD grant (Sept 2025).

What Qubic works on

Quantum Computing

A quantum computer is a machine that uses the rules of quantum physics to process information. Its basic unit is the qubit. A classical bit is either 0 or 1. A qubit can be in a superposition, a state that combines both, and its measured result is probabilistic.
