About Beijing Institute of Open Source Chip (BOSC)

Beijing institute behind XiangShan, an open-source high-performance RISC-V core. The second generation, Nanhu, taped out at 2 GHz on 14 nm; the third, Kunminghu, was announced in January 2025 for a 2025 debut, and the August 2025 World RISC-V Day Beijing event still showed Nanhu hardware. Release of Kunminghu silicon was not confirmed in sources found.

Beijing Institute of Open Source Chip (BOSC) was founded in 2021 and is based in Beijing, China. It is listed under CPUs & RISC-V.
