About Chase Research Cryogenics

Sheffield maker of sub-kelvin sorption coolers and gas-gap heat switches, started by Simon Chase in 1993 and incorporated as Chase Research Cryogenics Ltd on 21 January 2003. Products include the GL4 (below 1 K), GL7 (below 0.3 K, sealed) and CMD continuous miniature dilution (below 0.1 K) coolers, and the CC4 and CC7 continuous coolers. It works with Danaher's cryo business, whose integrated sub-kelvin cryostats use Chase coolers as a core building block, and has led an Innovate UK project with SeeQC and Cardiff, Lancaster and Royal Holloway universities on cooling a quantum processor in a compact platform (reported 2021).

What Chase Research Cryogenics works on

Quantum Computing

A quantum computer is a machine that uses the rules of quantum physics to process information. Its basic unit is the qubit. A classical bit is either 0 or 1. A qubit can be in a superposition, a state that combines both, and its measured result is probabilistic.
