About Enfabrica

Enfabrica developed networking silicon for AI data centres. Its ACF-S chip combines the functions of a network interface card, a PCIe switch and memory access over CXL, so many GPUs and CPUs can be linked through one device and one pool of bandwidth. In September 2025 Nvidia hired co-founder and chief executive Rochan Sankar and licensed Enfabrica's technology in a cash and stock deal reported at more than $900 million. Reports describe it as a hiring and licensing arrangement rather than a full purchase.

Enfabrica was founded in 2020 and is based in San Jose, CA, United States. It is listed under AI Accelerators, Interconnect & Networking. Reported funding is $115M Series C (Nov 2024, led by Spark Capital).

AI Accelerators

An AI accelerator is a chip, or a part of a chip, designed to run machine learning faster or with less energy than a general-purpose processor. The category includes GPUs, TPUs, neural processing units (NPUs) and chips from many startups.

Interconnect & Networking

Interconnect is the set of links that move data between chips, between boards and between racks. It includes wires on a package, cables inside a server, and the network switches and optical fibre across a data center. A processor is only as useful as the speed at which it can get data in and out.
