About Fujitsu
Fujitsu is a Japanese IT group that sells servers, storage, software, consulting and cloud services, and also designs processors for supercomputers. With the research institute RIKEN it built the Fugaku supercomputer around its own A64FX processor, which uses the Arm instruction set rather than x86. This sets it apart from most server vendors, which buy processors from others. Fujitsu was founded on 20 June 1935 and moved its headquarters to Kawasaki, Japan, in 2024 from Tokyo.

What Fujitsu works on
HPC & AI Systems
High-performance computing (HPC) means using very large clusters of processors working together to solve problems that one machine cannot handle in a reasonable time. These clusters are called supercomputers. They run weather models, physics simulations and, increasingly, AI training.
CPUs & RISC-V
A CPU, or central processing unit, is the general-purpose chip that runs a computer. It reads instructions, does arithmetic and logic, and decides what happens next. Every phone, laptop and server has at least one.
