About FuriosaAI

FuriosaAI designs chips for running trained AI models, a task called inference, mainly in data centres. Its second-generation RNGD chip is built on a Tensor Contraction Processor architecture, which treats tensor contraction, the core multiply-and-sum operation behind neural networks, as the basic unit of work instead of breaking it into smaller matrix operations. RNGD is made on TSMC's 5 nanometre process, uses two HBM3 memory stacks and is rated at 512 INT8 TOPS. The company was founded in 2017 by June Paik, a former AMD and Samsung engineer.

FuriosaAI was founded in 2017 and is based in Seoul, South Korea. It is listed under AI Accelerators. Reported funding is $246M.
