About SAPEON

SAPEON was the AI chip arm of South Korean carrier SK Telecom, which designed data centre inference accelerators, meaning chips that run trained AI models rather than train them. In December 2024 it merged with Rebellions, a Seoul-area rival, and the combined company operates under the Rebellions name. The SAPEON name now mainly survives as a product brand and legacy entity. Buyers and researchers should treat Rebellions as the surviving company. This record may be better merged with the Rebellions entry.

SAPEON was founded in 2022 and is based in Seoul, South Korea. It is listed under AI Accelerators.
