About Hailo
Hailo designs low-power AI processors for edge devices such as cameras, vehicles and industrial equipment, where models run locally rather than in the cloud. Its Hailo-8 chip is rated at up to 26 tera operations per second. The company uses a data flow architecture, in which software maps each layer of a neural network onto separate regions of the chip so data moves less between memory and compute. Hailo is based in Israel and was founded in 2017 by former members of an Israel Defense Forces technology unit.
Hailo was founded in 2017 and is based in Tel Aviv, Israel. It is listed under Edge Computing, AI Accelerators. Reported funding is SPAC merger MOU (March 2026); $9M emergency loan from Delek (Jan 2026).

What Hailo works on
Edge Computing
Edge computing means processing data close to where it is produced, on a device or a nearby server, instead of sending everything to a distant cloud data center. In chip terms, edge processors are small, low-power chips that run software and AI models inside phones, cameras, cars and sensors.
AI Accelerators
An AI accelerator is a chip, or a part of a chip, designed to run machine learning faster or with less energy than a general-purpose processor. The category includes GPUs, TPUs, neural processing units (NPUs) and chips from many startups.
