About Lasertec
Lasertec makes inspection and measurement equipment used in chip manufacturing, especially for EUV photomasks. A photomask is the stencil that prints circuit patterns onto wafers, and EUV masks use extreme ultraviolet light, so a single defect can ruin many chips. It is a tool supplier, not a chip maker. In 2017 it unveiled an EUV mask inspection system that it says was the first offered commercially. The company was founded in 1960 as Tokyo ITV Laboratory, initially building X-ray cameras, and is headquartered in Yokohama.
Lasertec was founded in 1960 and is based in Yokohama, Japan. It is listed under Custom Silicon. Its shares trade as 6920.T on TSE.
