About Movandi

Movandi designs radio chips and antenna modules for millimeter-wave wireless, the very high frequency bands used by some 5G networks and satellite links. These signals carry a lot of data but are easily blocked, so Movandi sells BeamXR smart repeaters that extend coverage indoors and outdoors, along with RF front ends and phased-array antennas that steer beams electronically. Its BeamX software controls those beams. The company is headquartered in Irvine, California, was founded in 2016 by siblings Maryam and Reza Rofougaran, and has a research site in Sydney, Australia. Its website says it was founded by former Broadcom engineers.

Movandi was founded in 2016 and is based in Irvine, CA, United States. It is listed under ASICs. Reported funding is $40M strategic (Oct 2025).

ASICs

An ASIC, or application-specific integrated circuit, is a chip designed to do one job or a narrow set of jobs. Its circuits are fixed when the chip is made. A CPU can run any program; an ASIC does what it was designed for and nothing else.
