About PINC Technologies
PINC Technologies is a Caltech spinout in Pasadena, California, working on nonlinear photonics. Nonlinear optics changes the colour of light or generates new wavelengths, a step that normally needs bulky bench equipment. PINC builds these functions on a chip using periodically poled lithium niobate, a crystal engineered so that light converts efficiently, under the name NanoPPLN. Target uses named in coverage include quantum information processing, optical communications and sensing. The company was founded in 2023 and left stealth in October 2025 with a round led by Quantonation.
PINC Technologies was founded in 2023 and is based in Pasadena, CA, United States. It is listed under Photonic Computing. Reported funding is $6.8M Seed+ (Oct 2025, led by Quantonation).

What PINC Technologies works on
Photonic Computing
Photonic computing uses light instead of electricity to carry or process information. Photons have no charge, so light in a waveguide does not cause the resistive heating that current in a wire does, though lasers and modulators still use power, and many wavelengths can share one waveguide. The industry has two quite different parts: moving data with light, and computing with light.
