About Quantum Brilliance

Quantum Brilliance develops quantum computing and sensing devices built on nitrogen-vacancy centres, which are atomic-scale defects in diamond whose electron and nuclear spins serve as qubits. Unlike many quantum machines, its diamond devices are designed to operate at room temperature without large cryogenic cooling systems, and to sit alongside conventional computing equipment. The company says its work builds on over 25 years of diamond quantum research at the University of Stuttgart and the Australian National University. It lists offices in Sydney, Stuttgart, Freiburg and Tokyo. This is quantum hardware, outside the usual scope of this directory.

What Quantum Brilliance works on

Quantum Computing

A quantum computer is a machine that uses the rules of quantum physics to process information. Its basic unit is the qubit. A classical bit is either 0 or 1. A qubit can be in a superposition, a state that combines both, and its measured result is probabilistic.
