About SiPearl
SiPearl designs high-performance computing processors in Europe. Its first product, Rhea1, is an Arm-based CPU with 80 Neoverse V1 cores, each with SVE vector units that apply one instruction to many numbers at once, plus HBM memory stacks placed in the same package for high bandwidth. It is manufactured on TSMC's N6 process. SiPearl was established in 2019 with European Union funding through the European Processor Initiative. Rhea1 is intended for the CPU cluster of Jupiter, Europe's first exascale supercomputer, at Forschungszentrum Julich in Germany.
SiPearl was founded in 2019 and is based in Maisons-Laffitte, France. It is listed under AI Accelerators, Custom Silicon, CPUs & RISC-V. Reported funding is €130M Series A closed (July 2025).

What SiPearl works on
AI Accelerators
An AI accelerator is a chip, or a part of a chip, designed to run machine learning faster or with less energy than a general-purpose processor. The category includes GPUs, TPUs, neural processing units (NPUs) and chips from many startups.
Custom Silicon
Custom silicon means a company designs its own chips for its own products or data centers instead of buying standard parts. The chip is made by a foundry such as TSMC, but the design belongs to the customer.
CPUs & RISC-V
A CPU, or central processing unit, is the general-purpose chip that runs a computer. It reads instructions, does arithmetic and logic, and decides what happens next. Every phone, laptop and server has at least one.
