About Synthara
Synthara, based in Zurich, Switzerland, develops ComputeRAM, a technology that adds in-memory computing to embedded chips. Conventional chips spend much of their time and energy moving data between memory and a processor, so computing inside the memory array itself can cut that cost. Synthara says this gives a 100x gain in speed and energy efficiency, which is a company claim not independently checked. It targets low-power products such as wearables, robotics and programmable smart sensors. The company's website lists an address at Josefstrasse 219 in Zurich, but does not name customers or investors.
Synthara was founded in 2019 and is based in Zurich, Switzerland. It is listed under In-Memory Computing, AI Accelerators. Reported funding is $15M + CHF 2.5M.

What Synthara works on
In-Memory Computing
In-memory computing does calculations inside or right next to the memory that stores the data, instead of copying the data to a separate processor. It is also called processing-in-memory (PIM) or compute-in-memory.
AI Accelerators
An AI accelerator is a chip, or a part of a chip, designed to run machine learning faster or with less energy than a general-purpose processor. The category includes GPUs, TPUs, neural processing units (NPUs) and chips from many startups.
