About Uhnder

Uhnder makes a digital imaging radar on a chip for automotive and other sensing uses. Most automotive radar sends frequency-swept signals, while Uhnder uses digital code modulation, in which each radar transmits a coded digital signal and the chip decodes the returns in software, which it says helps reduce interference between radars. Its site calls the device a software-defined radar. The company is headquartered in Austin, Texas, and its cofounder Manju Hegde is chief executive. Its site lists a Series D round in February 2024.

Uhnder was founded in 2015 and is based in Austin, TX, United States. It is listed under ASICs, AI Accelerators.

What Uhnder works on

ASICs

An ASIC, or application-specific integrated circuit, is a chip designed to do one job or a narrow set of jobs. Its circuits are fixed when the chip is made. A CPU can run any program; an ASIC does what it was designed for and nothing else.
