About Sivers Semiconductors

Sivers Semiconductors makes millimeter wave chips and antenna modules for satellite communications, fixed wireless access and defense, plus high-power lasers for optical links in AI data centers. Millimeter wave means very high radio frequencies that carry large amounts of data over short distances, and the lasers send that data as light between servers. It combines a wireless business and a photonics business in one company, which is unusual among chip suppliers. The company is headquartered in Kista, Sweden, and its shares trade on Nasdaq Stockholm under the ticker SIVE.

Sivers Semiconductors was founded in 1951 and is based in Kista, Sweden. It is listed under ASICs. Reported funding is ESA contract ~$900K (2025).

ASICs

An ASIC, or application-specific integrated circuit, is a chip designed to do one job or a narrow set of jobs. Its circuits are fixed when the chip is made. A CPU can run any program; an ASIC does what it was designed for and nothing else.
