About Credo Semiconductor
Credo designs high-speed connectivity products for data centers, including SerDes technology, retimers, optical DSPs and active electrical cables sold under the HiWire name. These parts move data between servers, switches and accelerators in AI and cloud networks. The company is fabless, selling mainly to hyperscalers, equipment makers and optical module makers. It was founded in 2008, is headquartered in San Jose, California, and trades on Nasdaq under CRDO after listing in 2022.

What Credo Semiconductor works on
ASICs
An ASIC, or application-specific integrated circuit, is a chip designed to do one job or a narrow set of jobs. Its circuits are fixed when the chip is made. A CPU can run any program; an ASIC does what it was designed for and nothing else.
Photonic Computing
Photonic computing uses light instead of electricity to carry or process information. Photons have no charge, so light in a waveguide does not cause the resistive heating that current in a wire does, though lasers and modulators still use power, and many wavelengths can share one waveguide. The industry has two quite different parts: moving data with light, and computing with light.
Interconnect & Networking
Interconnect is the set of links that move data between chips, between boards and between racks. It includes wires on a package, cables inside a server, and the network switches and optical fibre across a data center. A processor is only as useful as the speed at which it can get data in and out.
