About Intel Foundry
Intel Foundry is the contract manufacturing arm of Intel, which makes chips for outside customers as well as for Intel's own products. It offers its own process technologies and advanced packaging, which joins several chips into one package in 2D, 2.5D or 3D layouts, plus test services and a multi-product shuttle program for prototyping. Intel's older foundry effort was reported closed in 2018, and the current business is a later relaunch. The parent company is headquartered in Santa Clara, California, and the US federal government is its largest listed shareholder at 9.9 percent.

Custom Silicon
