About Miraex
Miraex builds thin-film lithium tantalate photonic integrated circuits, which are chips that guide light. The company aims to use them in transducers that convert signals between microwave and optical frequencies, so that superconducting quantum processors, sensors and networks could one day be linked over optical fibre. Its website places it at EPFL Innovation Park, with a footer address in Ecublens, Switzerland, near Lausanne. A news item on the site dated 2 June 2026 reports that SEALSQ acquired 100 percent of Miraex, so it is now a SEALSQ company.
Miraex was founded in 2019 and is based in Lausanne, Switzerland. It is listed under Quantum Computing, Photonic Computing.

What Miraex works on
Quantum Computing
A quantum computer is a machine that uses the rules of quantum physics to process information. Its basic unit is the qubit. A classical bit is either 0 or 1. A qubit can be in a superposition, a state that combines both, and its measured result is probabilistic.
Photonic Computing
Photonic computing uses light instead of electricity to carry or process information. Photons have no charge, so light in a waveguide does not cause the resistive heating that current in a wire does, though lasers and modulators still use power, and many wavelengths can share one waveguide. The industry has two quite different parts: moving data with light, and computing with light.
