About Nexperia
Nexperia makes high-volume discrete semiconductors, including diodes, transistors, MOSFETs, ESD protection devices and logic chips. These are simple, single-purpose parts used throughout cars, industrial equipment and consumer electronics, rather than processors. It was formed in 2017 from the standard products unit of NXP Semiconductors, whose roots lie in Philips, and is based in Nijmegen in the Netherlands. Its owner is Wingtech Technology of China. In October 2025 the Dutch government used emergency powers to take control of its governance, and suspended that order in November 2025.
Nexperia was founded in 2017 and is based in Nijmegen, Netherlands. It is listed under ASICs, Custom Silicon.

What Nexperia works on
ASICs
An ASIC, or application-specific integrated circuit, is a chip designed to do one job or a narrow set of jobs. Its circuits are fixed when the chip is made. A CPU can run any program; an ASIC does what it was designed for and nothing else.
Custom Silicon
Custom silicon means a company designs its own chips for its own products or data centers instead of buying standard parts. The chip is made by a foundry such as TSMC, but the design belongs to the customer.
