About Aeva Technologies
Aeva Technologies develops 4D LiDAR sensors based on frequency modulated continuous wave sensing, which measures both distance and instantaneous velocity. It integrates key LiDAR components onto a silicon photonics chip. Its products include the Atlas and Aeries lines, aimed mainly at automotive driver assistance and automated driving, with additional use in industrial automation and security. The sensors supply perception data to vehicle and robot compute stacks. Aeva is headquartered in Mountain View, California, and became publicly traded in 2021 through a merger with InterPrivate Acquisition Corp.
Aeva Technologies was founded in 2017 and is based in Mountain View, CA, United States. It is listed under Photonic Computing, ASICs. Its shares trade as AEVA on NYSE.

What Aeva Technologies works on
Photonic Computing
Photonic computing uses light instead of electricity to carry or process information. Photons have no charge, so light in a waveguide does not cause the resistive heating that current in a wire does, though lasers and modulators still use power, and many wavelengths can share one waveguide. The industry has two quite different parts: moving data with light, and computing with light.
ASICs
An ASIC, or application-specific integrated circuit, is a chip designed to do one job or a narrow set of jobs. Its circuits are fixed when the chip is made. A CPU can run any program; an ASIC does what it was designed for and nothing else.
