About DenseLight Semiconductors
DenseLight Semiconductors makes photonic components, which are chips that generate and handle light, for sensing and for datacom and telecom links. Its range includes superluminescent LED (SLED) modules, which emit broad-spectrum light used in optical sensing, along with distributed feedback (DFB) lasers, semiconductor optical amplifiers and gain chips. It also offers silicon photonics integration under its DPhi hybrid integration technology. The company operates as DenseLight Semiconductors Pte Ltd, a Singapore private limited company, with its address at Changi North Street 2.
DenseLight Semiconductors was founded in 2000 and is based in Singapore. It is listed under Photonic Computing, Custom Silicon.

What DenseLight Semiconductors works on
Photonic Computing
Photonic computing uses light instead of electricity to carry or process information. Photons have no charge, so light in a waveguide does not cause the resistive heating that current in a wire does, though lasers and modulators still use power, and many wavelengths can share one waveguide. The industry has two quite different parts: moving data with light, and computing with light.
Custom Silicon
Custom silicon means a company designs its own chips for its own products or data centers instead of buying standard parts. The chip is made by a foundry such as TSMC, but the design belongs to the customer.
