About Ingonyama
Ingonyama builds acceleration for zero-knowledge proofs, a cryptographic method that lets one party prove a computation is correct without revealing the underlying data. Its best-known product is ICICLE, an open-source library that speeds up the heavy maths of proof generation on Nvidia GPUs, with FPGA and custom chip work described as a longer-term aim. That puts it closer to a software and silicon design house than a chip seller today. The company is based in Israel, and ICICLE was first released in March 2023.
Ingonyama was founded in 2022 and is based in Tel Aviv, Israel. It is listed under ASICs, FPGAs.

What Ingonyama works on
ASICs
An ASIC, or application-specific integrated circuit, is a chip designed to do one job or a narrow set of jobs. Its circuits are fixed when the chip is made. A CPU can run any program; an ASIC does what it was designed for and nothing else.
FPGAs
An FPGA, or field-programmable gate array, is a chip whose internal wiring can be changed after it is made. It contains a grid of small logic blocks, memory blocks and programmable connections. Loading a new configuration file, called a bitstream, turns it into a different digital circuit.
