About Xiphera

Xiphera designs cryptographic intellectual property cores, which are pre-built security circuits that chip designers add to FPGAs and custom chips. Its portfolio includes the xQlave post-quantum family, meaning encryption meant to resist future quantum computers, plus hardware trust engines and network security protocol cores. The company says its cores are pure hardware with no hidden processor or software inside, which keeps behavior predictable and easier to certify. Xiphera was founded in July 2017 by Matti Tommiska and Kimmo Jarvinen and is based in Espoo, Finland.

Xiphera was founded in 2017 and is based in Espoo, Finland. It is listed under FPGAs, ASICs.

What Xiphera works on

FPGAs

An FPGA, or field-programmable gate array, is a chip whose internal wiring can be changed after it is made. It contains a grid of small logic blocks, memory blocks and programmable connections. Loading a new configuration file, called a bitstream, turns it into a different digital circuit.

ASICs

An ASIC, or application-specific integrated circuit, is a chip designed to do one job or a narrow set of jobs. Its circuits are fixed when the chip is made. A CPU can run any program; an ASIC does what it was designed for and nothing else.
